Direct Care Services

The Direct Care Service Program for persons with mental retardation/developmental disabilities, also known as CAP-MR/DD, is a special Medicaid program that enables an individual to receive a number of services not offered through regular Medicaid. Vocational Solutions contracts for these services through Western Highlands Area Authority.

Individuals who qualify must be at risk of being placed in an institution. They must also:

  1. Need active treatment
  2. Have a diagnosis of MR, cerebral palsy, autism or epilepsy
  3. Have significant delays in three or more of the following areas; self care, understanding and use of language, learning, mobility, self direction or capacity for independent living
